Hepatic flexure of the colon, one can imagine the liver seen through the wall of the colon

The hepatic flexure is situated between the ascending and the transverse part of the colon, beneath the liver. A part of the liver surface is often seen through the bowel wall thus helping in the identification of what part of the colon is examined.
