Oesophageal Diverticulum in the Middle Third of the Oesophagus (Midoesophageal Diverticulum)

Midoesophageal diverticula are outpouchings of the oesophageal wall. They are usually small and do not usually cause any symtoms like dysphagia. They are easily recognized in x-ray examinations of the oesophagus and during upper endoscopy. No treatment is usually needed.
