A Single Hyperplastic Polyp in the Antrum

9 out of 10 of all polyps found in the stomach are hyperplastic.

Hyperplastic Polyps in the Antrum

Polyps like these are not considered to be premalignant. However, a stomach with hyperplastic polyps goes with a greater risk of getting cancer elsewhere in the stomach, and hyperplastic polyposis should therefore be kept under endoscopic surveillance perhaps every 3 years.

A Bleeding Prepyloric Polyp

A hyperplastic polyp can cause an occult gastrointestinal bleeding.
