Pseudomembranous Colitis
This disease, caused by a clostridium difficile-infection, and most oftenly seen after antibiotic treatment, causes these yellow-white membranes on the colonic mucosa. The diagnose is easy, Clostridium difficile grows from faecal samples, and the Clostridium toxines are positive. The disease is treated with metronidazol or vancomycin.
 
Pseudomembranous Colitis
Treatment with peroral cephalosporines is nowadays a usual cause of PMC. This patient had been treated by peroral cefuroxime.
