Gastric Lymphoma

Gastric lymphoma

The lesions seen in gastric lymphomas can be difficult to differ from gastric leiomyoma or gastric cancer. Gastric lymphomas account for about 50% of all primary gastrointestinal lymphomas, and for about 5% of all gastric malignancies.

Gastric lymphoma

The lymphoma lesion is usually located in the corpus. The symtoms and signs are mostly the same as in gastric carcinoma, but the prognosis after surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy is definitely better than in gastric carcinoma. A part of these lymphomas are MALT-lymphomas caused by a Helicobacter pylori-infection.
