This lady in her upper middle age had been treated for osteoporosis for years. Despite medication with vitamin D and calcium she was constantly hypocalcemic. During the last year she had suffered from diarrhea and lost 10 pounds of weight. The biopsy taken in the first of these three pictures from the descending part of the duodenum will of course give the name of her disease. What is it?

This finding could be a dudenal celiac disease or i am thinking in a duodenal xanthelasm, but my first answer is celiac disease because of the granularity that is seen in the picture.
