The summer of this year is here again - at least on our half of the globe. During the summer - in June, July and August - the Quiz will be quite easy for two reasons. First, a quick answers save You time to be out in the sun. Second, You do not have to be an expert in endoscopy to manage in this quiz during the summer. So - if You are a health care professional just thinking of starting a career in endoscopy, please have a try - You might find it interesting!
This quite old lady had suffered from intermittent bloodstained diarrhea for several years. A colonoscopy was done four years earlier with a quite normal finding, however, at that time she happened to be in a symptomfree period. The diarrhea usually lasted a few weeks. A new colonoscopy was made during a period of diarrhea that had lasted for a few weeks. This is the finding in her rectum and sigmoid colon. So, the disease causing this ladys trouble is, well, what is it?

Answer:
Ulcerative colitis affecting rectum and the distal sigmoid colon. Could also be called a proctosigmoiditis or a distal proctocolitis.
