This old lady had suffered from some slight dyspeptic symtoms for many years. Upper endoscopy showed gastritis due to Helicobacter infection and a slight reflux disease. This is the finding in the descending part of her duodenum. What is the probable histologic finding in biopsies taken here?
Answer
Duodenal tubulovillous adenoma
This was the finding in the biopsies taken during an upper endoscopy. As surgery was never done - due to other diseases - we do not know, if there is a malignancy deeper in this lesion, which is quite possible.
