This old gentleman had experienced a "boiling" sensation in his lower abdomen for some months. He did not have any anemia and tests for occult blood in his stool were negative. Colonoscopy showed a sigmoid diverticular disease probably explaining much of his symptoms. These pictures show the finding in the upper part of his rectum. What is this finding?
