Gastric xanthelasmas (also called xanthomas) are a rare finding. We see only a few every year, perhaps one in one thousand examinations. This xanthoma was situated in the corpus on the curvatura minor. The finding is incidental, these "lesions" do not cause any symptoms, they do not need any treatment. Histologically the consists of lipid-filled histocytes, but they do not have any relationship to hyperlipidemia.
