Bulbus Duodeni

 Click on an image to get a magnification! The first part of the duodenum is called the duodenal bulb, bulbus duodeni.
The duodenal bulb is the first part of the duodenum. It begins at the pylorus and is about 5 centimeters long. The distal part of the bulb is located retroperitoneally.
